Lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper? As a drink?

Has anyone heard of drinking lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper as a way to jump start metabolism? I've heard many stories about celebrity weight loss on this 'cleansing' program. Guess they stay on it for 10 days and was wondering if anyone had any experience with it? Is it safe? Is it healthy? Does it work?

DONE IT

It's a detox drink and my wife suggested we try it.

By 10am on our first day I was face first in the company candy dish.

This man can't survive without food.

Re: detox drink

I had the opportunity to "meet" a leading nutritionist online, who is noted for her very popular fat flushing plan. She has a detox concoction that one is supposed to drink for a specific period of time to "kick start" your metabolism.

Inasmuch as I admire the woman, and I've tried her plan, it just doesn't do much for me, lol! Like Todd, I was heading straight for something satiating (although I think I ran out for tacos).

The Master Cleanse plan is not new, and I do believe there is something fundamentally good in theory about it. But, most folks I know who have tried to detox for weight loss gained it all back, and then some.

Personally, I think lots of fluids, particularly hot lemon water and fresh ginger tea, and eating real food, do more good for you than shocking your system. But, that's just my humble opinion.
