USA Today article said that people who are on diets and write down everything they eat lose TWICE as much weight than those who don't keep a "food diary". This is according to a new research study (they said it is the "largest weight-loss study ever conducted").
I've never kept a food diary...have you? How do I even start, and keep up with it (I don't want to become overly concerned or obsessed with what I'm eating, either).

A older (70s) relative of mine suffered acute glaucoma recently and got treated immediately. She then got another attack a week later and had to go to the hospital.
This is a definition I got from a webiste (http://www.glaucoma.org.au/whatis.htm)

In the midst of high gas prices, salmonella outbreaks, and a presidential election comes a health story about pediatricians recommending cholesterol drugs for 8-year-old kids.

Some experts say the first line of defense for kids when battling obesity should be exercise and nutritional counseling. Others say that plan of action may not be aggressive enough. What do you think?

What is normal heartburn? I'm in my late 50's, and have been having heartburn lately. Not sure if it from spicy food, stress or something else? At what point do I see a doctor?
How much Tums is OK to take on a daily/weekly basis?

My family and I are planning a beach vacation, and it seems every year one of us is stung by a jellyfish or bitten by sand mites (is that even the right term?).
What should I pack as first aid treatment as a precaution?

Does anyone have any recommendations for extreme tooth sensitivity? My dentist mentioned that I have pretty good dental health, and recommended tooth pastes for sensitive teeth. Tried two now, but no luck. Any advice?

The news that more people have become sick with salmonella gave me pause. I honestly haven't changed my eating habits since word of the outbreak well ... broke. I'm not avoiding tomatoes or other produce and am relying on grocery stores and other distributors to take precautions. I have been washing our fruits, vegetables and herbs more, but haven't skipped my favorite foods. How are you handling the news? Have you done an about face as far as your eating habits are concerned?

I saw that the Williams' sisters were up against each other in today's Wimbledon finals. Venus beat her sister Serena in two sets.
After, she talked about making sure to not celebrate too loudly or make a huge fuss, bearing in mind that her win meant her sister's loss. Their Mom watched but their Dad flew back to the States rather than watch his two daughters fight it out on Center Court! In concession, Serena said she was happy for her sister and at least one of them won!

i'm 35 years old. when i was 17, my left ovary was removed because of a large cyst found in it. i got married at 25 and had 3 children. now, i had my routine check-up and it was found out that my right ovary had a cyst in it, measuring around 6.8 cm by 8 cm. my obgyne advised for a hysterectomy. is there any other option than removing everything including my uterus? can the cyst be removed without removing my ovary? i'm still very young...

I just had "Her Option" cryo ablation of my endometrial lining four days ago for heavy bleeding, cramps, anemia with my periods. I'd like to know if there are any other ladies out there who have had this procedure and their experience. Didi it work for you? Did it help with PMS too?
